About this syllabus
Cambridge IGCSE Additional Mathematics stretches able IGCSE Mathematics learners and prepares them for AS & A Level Mathematics. It covers 14 topics of pure mathematics: functions; quadratic functions; factors of polynomials; equations, inequalities and graphs (including the modulus function and cubic graphs); simultaneous equations; logarithmic and exponential functions; straight-line graphs; the coordinate geometry of the circle; circular measure; trigonometry; permutations and combinations; series (binomial theorem, arithmetic and geometric progressions); vectors in two dimensions; and calculus (differentiation, integration and kinematics).
How you are assessed
All candidates take Paper 1 (non-calculator, 2 hours, 80 marks, 50%) and Paper 2 (calculator, 2 hours, 80 marks, 50%). Both papers contain compulsory structured and unstructured questions on any part of the content. Grades A* to E.
