Learning objectives

What the syllabus expects you to be able to do.

  1. 5.1.1Use functional notation f(x) and evaluate functions for given values.
  2. 5.1.2Draw straight-line graphs, find gradients from two points, and interpret and obtain equations of the form y = mx + c, including recognising parallel lines.
  3. 5.1.3Construct tables of values and draw graphs of linear, quadratic, cubic and inverse functions, reading off values and turning points.
  4. 5.1.4Solve equations graphically, including from the points of intersection of two graphs.
  5. 5.1.5Estimate the gradient of a curve at a point by drawing a tangent and interpret it as a rate of change.
