Learning objectives

What the syllabus expects you to be able to do.

  1. 2.5.1Form expressions, equations and formulas from information given in words or diagrams.
  2. 2.5.2Solve linear equations in one unknown, including equations with brackets and fractions.
  3. 2.5.3Solve a pair of simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns.
  4. 2.5.4Extended: solve simultaneous equations in which one equation is linear and the other is not.
  5. 2.5.5Extended: solve quadratic equations by factorising.
  6. 2.5.6Extended: solve quadratic equations by completing the square and by using the quadratic formula, giving answers to a stated degree of accuracy.
