About this syllabus
Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics develops fluency with number, algebra, graphs, coordinate geometry, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, transformations and vectors, probability and statistics, and the ability to use them to solve problems in abstract and real-life contexts, with and without a calculator. Candidates follow either the Core curriculum or the Extended curriculum, which contains all of the Core content and more.
How you are assessed
Core candidates take Paper 1 (non-calculator) and Paper 3 (calculator), each 1 hour 30 minutes and 80 marks; they can be awarded grades C to G. Extended candidates take Paper 2 (non-calculator) and Paper 4 (calculator), each 2 hours and 100 marks; they can be awarded grades A* to E. Each paper is worth half of the qualification, contains structured and unstructured questions, and includes a list of formulas.
